With snow, work and school I never made it online last night. So here is what I would have posted last night. It’s going to have to count for 2 days.
I have a confession to make. I have been cheating on my food plan a bit. Not in big ways, or even in ways that have affected my weight loss, but enough that it makes me nervous. Three times in the last week I had a late night snack. Again, it wasn’t a big snack, but it wasn’t healthy eating either. Mostly I went for carbs, and I had a weird craving for honey on crackers one night.
On this journey toward health I am learning a number of things among them that my goal is progress not perfection, and each day is a new day. But I am picking up some other things that are important for me to know,
I eat when I am bored. I was snowed in for 2.5 days and I was bored out of my mind. I thought about eating between meals more and by night time I was really having mental, not physical, cravings. That part of me that wants to open a bag of chips and eat it while I read or watch TV is still alive and well.
I have a nutritionist and a food-plan for a reason. By sticking to my food plan as close as possible I prevent my mind from hijacking my eating. If I finish the day and have more than 100 calories left over my addict brain kicks in and wants to snack. “These are those calories that are DUE you.”, it whispers in my ear. The fact that it suggests I have a 300 calorie snack to replace 100 unused calories is not a discussion we have. My addiction is really good at reasoning, really lousy at math.
So…I have put my cheating out there. I am confessing and striving to do better, which is about all I can do.

Good job at keeping it honest! Now go the extra mile and update your posted food plans to reflect the cheating. You’ll thank yourself for it later.
I eat when I’m bored, and when I’m procrastinating. I’m procrastinating now and am trying really hard not to go get a snack because I’m truly NOT hungry.
Sigh…you’re right. I am copying it off my food plan and will post it as an update.
